President, heal thyself
While President Bush boasts of spreading Democracy around the world, our own Democracy is at
risk. President Bush is spreading something around the world, but it isn’t Democracy as I
envision it.
When elected officials attack the press and all who disagree with their policies, I question their
understanding of a “Democracy.”
Mr. Cheney refers to those who speak-out against the war in Iraq as background noise. Does Mr.
Cheney really understand the meaning of a democracy?
Mr. Bush might have more success spreading democracy by example instead of by force.
Here are some novel ideas: Practice Democracy at home. How about listening to the voices of the
people! Re-evaluate our unfair trade agreements! (Cheap labor agreements). Secure our borders!
Follow the laws of our nation! (Required oversight). Listen to the will of the people not just big
business and the elite!
Mr. Bush needs to understand the meaning of a Democracy before he can spread Democracy.
Stop attacking the voices of the people!
